Characters

Hey all,

I've been thinking, and maybe this isn't the right way to go about it, but I'm shooting this out anyways. Maybe we should decide (perhaps not set in stone though) who the voice actors are going to be for each animal. My reasoning is as follows:

- by choosing the actors first it allows us to design the characters in the movie from REAL characters. By this we can fit in some of our visual characteristics to the characters which I think would be fun. An example of this would be how some people had already considered adding spots around the eyes of the giraffe to signify my glasses.

- I think it will help give the characters more life if we perhaps add in the idiosyncrasies of the voice actor to the character. This goes to the attitude in the walk cycles as well as expressions, maybe even commonly used phrases from the actor.

Ofcourse we can do all these things without choosing the voice actors first, but I think it'll add something if they match the voice actor. I'm imagining it to be a caricature of the actor in animal form.

What do you guys think?

Keep it simple

Hey Guys,

Keep this cartoon simple. Let's see some progress in the dialogue. Start on longshot, trk in. To group of animals gatherer around a watering hole etc.

Spell it out for us. Then include some essential boards.

Lets' get some witty dialogue in there. Some of the stuff I was hearing in class. List of characters and personalities, maybe who you think would voice them etc.

Get this up asap.
Thanks,
-b

Here is what we have since last meeting.
Concentrate on story first. Let design be after.
